Here is an update on what we are doing with some of these pieces of chosen sea glass. When you choose you sea glass a flattish or flat back dome shape works best.
The first step we find the correct height bezel wire and measure if around the sea glass and cut it to the approximate size but on the larger size so there is enough to file down and have the seams match. If the seam does not match the solder will not flow. The bezel should be fitting but not too tight so the glass will not fit. Then we take the silver sheet and measure out the backing. There are many ways to make a backing. Open, closed, forged, with a patina and so forth. We are making closed backs to make rings and or pendants with a decorative wire design which we will get too later.

Here is the start of one of the hardest designs in sea glass jewelry creating the beautiful bezel set piece. What makes it so hard is the cabochon which in the sea glass is irregular in shape and you can not just measure it like a pre cut stone. But when it is complete it is one of the most rewarding pieces to wear. Here are some of the beautiful pieces we will be working with:
